I’m an avid fan of Red Dead Redemption and pleased that Rockstar Games continues to expand the lifespan of this marvelous game, with regular releases of new content packs, making it one of my favorite game, of all times.
Now, they have announced the release of four enthralling content packs, including more map locations, characters from Red Dead Revolver, multi-player mini-games, and most exciting of them all – zombies and ghost towns!
However, before we’ll experience the undead roaming the old west, three other packs will be released before that one, though.
Legend and Killers
First out, in the line of four exciting packs, we find Legend and Killers, slated for release in the beginning of August. This pack will more than double the amount of territories, as it includes 9 new multi-player map locations. Legend and Killers also gives you new multi-player characters, letting you play characters from Red Dead Revolver. You’ll also find a new weapon in this pack, the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for both single and multi-player.
Liars and Cheats
The second pack, titled Liars and Cheats, seems to be a real action stuffed package, as it includes new horse races, complete with mounted combat as well as a new weapon – an exploding riffle. Besides that you get a new multi-player competitive mode and challenges in, Attack and Defend.
In addition, a multi-player version of Liars Dice and Poker, from the single-player mode, is also included. All rounded off, with 8 more multi-player characters.
Free Roam
The Free Roam pack is the third package and as the name suggests, it’s completely dedicated to the free roam mode. It gives you more free roam challenges, complete with new action areas, defensive placements and gang hideouts, to discover.
Undead Nightmare Pack
The Undead Nightmare Pack, is the most spectacular and thrilling package of them all. In this package, the old west turns into a living nightmare, as ghost towns and cemeteries, suddenly springs to life!
The Undead Nightmare pack, features new single player missions, challenges and quest, as well as 8 gruesome zombie characters and new animals.
Pricing
Besides the Free Roam pack, which hasn’t got a price tag yet, the packages will cost you $9.99 (PSN) or 800 Microsoft points, which must be considered low, given the game value you get.
I, as an avid horror fan, find the undead elements to be really tantalizing and I cannot wait to lay my hands on that package. But what do you think, is zombies a welcomed addition to Red Dead Redemption or do you think it’s way off? Feel free to leave your thoughts, in the comments below!
